About Us

Clare Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic was established in 1995 and has grown steadily since then. We are a team of health professionals that provide specialised chartered physiotherapy services in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sports, musculo-skeletal & orthopaedic injuries and neurological, rheumatological & repiratory conditions. Our extensive range of services also includes dry-needling acupuncture, biomechanical assessments and provision of orthotics and management of women's health issues including incontinence.

We have an excellent rapport with GP's, consultants and sports clubs in the area.

The Clinic currently employs 3 physiotherapists.

Further details on our services can be found on our services page.

Our Fees

Treatment Fees are €45 per consultation. But you can reduce your physiotherapy fees as follows:

· Recover costs from your medical insurance. Chartered Physiotherapy is eligible for refund with VHI, Quinn Medical, Hibernian Health (Aviva) among others (check your policy in case of additional terms and conditions). Reimbursement rates vary depending on your policy, but as much as €40 euro per treatment can be reclaimed
· Tax relief is available on all chartered Physiotherapy costs. Therefore if you claim €40 from your health insurance the remaining €5 euro is subject to tax relief.

What Is Physiotherapy?

Chartered Physiotherapists are health professionals allied to the medical profession and carry university degrees. They use physical means of treatment such as joint mobilisation/manipulation techniques, exercise prescription, electrotherapy and therapeutic massage. Physiotherapy is heavily reliant on evidenced based research. It is a scientific approach which aims to maximise mobility and quality of life using clinical diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

What Is A Chartered Physiotherapist?

The title "Physiotherapist" alone is not evidence of a formal qualification in Physiotherapy. All Chartered Physiotherapists have completed a university degree course, are members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) and are bound by a professional code of ethics.
Check for the initials MISCP after the physiotherapist's name. Physiotherapists/Physical Therapists must be "Chartered" in order to be recognised by Insurance companies and Revenue. "Chartered" physiotherapists are the only physiotherapists that are employed by the HSE and private hospitals.
